- Before winter comes, detach the garden hose from your outside faucet and make sure that any dripping faucet is repaired. Garden hoses can keep the faucet from completely draining, potentially leading to ice bursting the faucet inside of your house. A break of this sort won’t be discovered until the faucet is turned on in the spring.
- Low water pressure is often due to a clogged aerator–the screen screwed into the end of your faucet– Remove this aerator and flush the screen of flecks of calcium. This could possibly bring back that full stream the faucet once produced.
- Get a “drain zipper” tool to pick hair out of your drain popup. This is an effective way to open up slow-draining bathroom sinks and bathtub drains blocked by hair.
