Toilet Installation and Replacement
Toilets come in two heights: “Regular” or “Right” sizing (~15 inches to the top of the toilet seat), and “Comfort” or “Chair” height (~17-19 inches tall). Taller people, or those who have trouble getting up from chairs, often appreciate the extra height of these toilets. Toilets also come in two bowl shapes, round or elongated. This is a matter of preference, but a smaller bathroom may benefit from not having an elongated toilet. Finally, be sure to measure the distance from the bolt caps at the bottom of the toilet to the finished wall. If this distance is less than ~11 inches, you may need a 10-inch rough-in toilet.
